Aisha Erma Lenora SaffoldA pearl begins as a particle of dust or dirt that finds its way inside an oyster. Then, the oyster coats the particle repeatedly over time--up to two to four years -- until the finished product is a smooth, lustrous white pearl, which often has a value the same as a gemstone, ranging from hundreds to even millions of dollars.
They're found at the bottom of the ocean. They take all the grime and the dust and the dirt from the sea, and they form this valuable gem. For Aisha Erma Lenora Saffold, she takes the girl's issues with self-esteem, insecurities, worries, and all the negativity they may have about themselves, and mold it into a P.E.A.R.L.S. girl. |
Aisha Erma Lenora Saffold is the Founder and Executive Director of P.E.A.R.L.S. Mentoring for Girls Inc., a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization where they are striving to "Change Lives, One PEARL at a Time in the State of Mississippi.
Raised in Lexington, MS, Aisha Erma Lenora Saffold is the Founder and Executive Director of P.E.A.R.L.S. Mentoring for Girls, Inc., where she has a passion for "Changing Lives, One PEARL at a Time" in the place she calls home.
Mississippi has a certain stigma associated with the place she calls home. She started P.E.A.R.L.S. because she wanted to clean up all those stains that others have placed on the area she holds deep in her heart and the ones her community has marked on themselves. She believes every girl, no matter where she comes from, deserves to be able to fulfill her utmost potential. Because of this, P.E.A.R.L.S. strives to mold their girls into role models, powerful women who achieve their hopes and dreams.
Aisha obtained her bachelor's degree in History from Jackson State University (2022). As an educator, entrepreneur, and advocate for girls, Aisha's mission is to live with purpose and accomplish excellence in all areas of life while supporting others to do the same. Aisha sees value in the uplifting of youth that follows in her tracks. She is dedicated to exuding poise and integrity with her incessant commitment to empowering her community.
Aisha aspire to empower young women to believe in themselves and to teach them that validation comes from within oneself. In society where the media implants a false image of whom and what a young woman should resemble, I have vowed to take a stand to teach the contrary and impart knowledge and wisdom in PEARL's lives. I want every young girl to know that they are beautiful and I want to see them reach their goals and excel at all they put their hands to. As long as they have someone in their corner backing and pushing them to pursue their goals, they will definitely attain them.

Board of Directors
P.E.A.R.L.S. Mentoring for Girls, Inc. board of directors is comprised of strong and engaged local individuals from a variety of backgrounds, who are each vitally involved in a comprehensive process of program assessment, planning, implementation and performance measurement. This process includes, but it not limited to:
- Being knowledgeable, engaged and responsive to the specific and diverse needs of our service community,
- Ensuring the effectiveness of program language and outreach strategies in reaching target audiences, and
- Making adjustments in activities to ensure our outcomes are not only met, but relevant and appropriate.
