A Benefit Gala to Fund Scholarship and Program for P.E.A.R.L.S. Mentoring for Girls,  Inc.

P.E.A.R.L.S. Mentoring for Girls, Inc.  celebrates the contributions and successes of women in Mississippi who have made a significant impact in our communities. These honorees are committed to their profession, their community, and to helping Mississippi and its citizens. They exhibit tireless dedication, strong leadership, and impassioned goodwill.

If you know a woman worthy of being honored through this program, nominate her today. Nominations are due by April 1, 2018 . The women chosen  will be celebrated at our P.E.A.R.L.S. and Bow Ties Awards Gala on
​June 2, 2018 at Jackson State University. 

Award Category Descriptions


Arts, Culture and Heritage Award--Recognizes the artistic achievement of women whose creative work or support of the arts, culture and heritage inspires our community.

Education – The nominee is a leader in the field of education who has impacted the lives of students. This includes, but is not limited to those employed in public, private and parochial schools, institutions of higher learning, technical schools, and libraries.

Economic Development – The nominee is a leader in an industry having a direct or indirect impact on the growth and development of local communities. She may be an entrepreneur, business executive, or non-profit administrator. 

Civic Awareness and Public Policy – The nominee is a leader in the field of law, government, or public policy. The nominee may be an advocate for civil rights and equality, women’s issues, an attorney, judge, government official, legislator, or lobbyist. This category may also include those persons who have worked to change laws, or who are engaged in law enforcement. 

Health and Wellness Award—Recognizes exceptional work in health and wellness, improving the physical, emotional, social, or spiritual health of individuals in our community​.

Corporate Trailblazer – The nominee is a corporate leader who has ascended to the top echelons of corporate executive leadership shattering the “glass ceiling” that women and minorities often encounter. 

All information provided on the nomination form will be kept confidential. A panel of judges will select the recipient of each award. The award recipients will be our guests at the 2018 P.E.A.R.L.S. and Bow Ties Awards Gala on June 2nd, 2018 at the Jackson State University Ballroom. All nominees and their nominators will be notified by letter informing the awards status.
