The mission of Miss P.E.A.R.L.S. Extraordinaire:
To be a fun, self-esteem enhancing environment for young ladies.
To teach and instill positive values and life skills, such as the importance of giving back to the community.
To give girls a platform to let their inner-beauty shine!
We know that being a girl is tough! Boys… beauty…brains…and body…Oh My!! We also know that we live in a world where girls are constantly judged by their physical beauty which ads unneeded stress to girls’ lives. So, instead of focusing on one’s physical appearance, Miss P.E.A.R.L.S. Extraordinaire celebrates girls for having enough courage and confidence to embrace their natural beauty with pride while presenting their inner-beauty to the world. After all, true beauty comes from within, and we encourage our participants to let their inner-character traits shine. Our pageant is designed to be a fun, celebratory time for the girls.
This is not your traditional beauty pageant. Miss P.E.A.R.L.S. Extraordinaire is a pageant that teaches principles. Our goal is to instill positive values while enhancing girls’ social skills. Each one of our Pageant Categories is associated with specific life-skills which steer girls towards success in life. Our pageant participants also demonstrate their inner-beauty by giving back to the community as part of their pageant experience.
Additionally, we offer several Pre-Pageant Confidence Camps to all pageant participants where girls make new friends and have fun while learning lessons on public speaking, poise, posture, etiquette, and everything else that they need to know to grace the pageant stage with confidence.
Miss P.E.A.R.L.S. Extraordinaire is a pageant like no other. Traditional beauty pageants place high value on how well a girl fits into society’s “beauty” standards. But, not us! We believe that true beauty comes from within, therefore, makeup is not required in our pageant, and there are limits to how much makeup is allowed. Light, age appropriate make-up is permitted, but not required, and contestants lose points for heavy makeup. In our opinion, it’s not about the Glitz and Glamour…it’s all about CONFIDENCE and CHARACTER!! Fake eye-lashes, wigs, hair extensions, fake tans, “flippers”, fake fingernails, and anything else that is unauthentic is prohibited. Instead of focusing on outward appearances, we encourage our participants to focus on inner-beauty traits such as character development, public speaking skills, poise, etiquette, and confidence. We consider our pageant more of an Inner-Beauty Party rather than a traditional pageant because each girl is individually called upon stage to receive her special recognition.
Don’t worry; we’ve got your back! No experience is necessary to participate, and girls with pageant experience are treated just as girls without pageant experience. We also teach you skills to shine on stage at our fun Pre-Pageant Confidence Camps! At the Confidence Camps, girls receive instruction on poise, the pageant walk, stage stance, public speaking skills, etiquette, and much, much, more! So, the girls are well prepared to get on stage and have fun at the pageant!
Participants must conduct themselves in a lady-like manner and portray high moral standards.
The only make-up that is allowed in the pageant is lip gloss, facial powder to control shine, light blush, and light mascara. If make-up is worn, it should be age appropriate.
No fake enhancements are allowed (wigs, hair extensions, fake tans, flippers, fake eye lashes, fake fingernails, etc.).
Swimwear is not allowed in any segment of the pageant.
A dressing area will be provided. Each contestant is allowed one person to accompany her in the dressing room.
Bubbles, water, fire stunts, and sharp objects are not allowed in any segment of the pageant.
Bad sportsmanship of any kind will not be tolerated. Please cheer everyone on. The Miss Extraordinaire Pageant Director reserves the right to disqualify any contestant due to bad sportsmanship which includes parental and guest activity. Please alert your guests of this rule.
Participants must be unaccompanied on stage.
The scoring system is 1-10 in each category. All judges’ decisions are final and ties will be broken by the judges. Judges information will not be given out prior to the pageant in order to prevent contestants from contacting them before the pageant.
Names of contestants and/or how many contestants are in the pageant will not be given out. This information can change daily and we do not want to publish any potentially misleading information.
All contestants are required to fundraise at least $100 in Fundraising dues by May 1st in order to participate in the pageant. Fundraising dues help P.E.A.R.L.S. Mentoring for Girls, Inc. with cost of meeting workshops, transportation, apparel, scholarships, etc.
P.E.A.R.L.S. Girls, the sponsoring organization for the Miss Extraordinaire Pageant, and the vendors, the volunteers & staff, the Director, and the facility where the event is being held are hereby non-liable for any injury, loss of personal property, or theft occurring before, during, or after the Pageant.
