Amari Kyé Johnson is Miss P.E.A.R.L.S. Extraordinaire 2020-2021 for the P.E.A.R.L.S. Mentoring for Girls, Inc. organization. Amari is a member of the Leflore County Chapter as a first-year P.E.A.R.L.S. Member. "I love P.E.A.R.L.S. because it is like a family outside of the family. The people in the organization are always so supportive and are there when you need them the most. A true sisterhood."

She is the daughter of Tamnral A Johnson-Rice and Cary Weaver of Greenwood, Mississippi. She is an upcoming sophomore at Greenwood High School where she holds a 4.3 grade-point average. She is also a member of the Lady Bulldogs volleyball and softball teams. The award that she has received that she holds close to her heart is the Tiger Award for the highest academic average as a student-athlete. She is a member of the Friendship M.B. Church where is sings in the youth choir.

When asked what does the title means to her she replied, "It allows me to be the change in our society today. It grants me the opportunity to put my platform to work with the help and support of a thriving organization."
Amari's platform is "Project Uplift". "This platform is near and dear to my heart because I'm able to inspire girls to be themselves truly and authentically. We promote self-confidence and raise awareness of bullying."

Her influences are all the women in her family. "They take every no and turn it into a yes. They are the most strong-willed people I know. They will take the clothes off their backs and the food off their tables to ensure that the next generation thrives and succeeds in life. I'm forever grateful for them because not everyone has that support."

In the future, Amari hopes to attend Howard University, a historically black university, in Washington, D.C. "I hope to become a surgeon or a forensic scientist.
